There are a lot of variables related to specific RVs that may cause freezing issues.
First, I’d recommend the following
– Disconnect your heated water hose from your rig
– Check that water flows all the way through
– Check that the city water inlet is not frozen
If you are using your water tank and water pump instead of a heated hose (not recommended) you will need to check that the water pump and surrounding plumbing are not freezing.
If you don’t have a heated water hose that’s a must have. We recommend nofreezewaterhose.com – more expensive than Camco or others but a far superior product.
Then you need to go down the chain and look for other sources of freezing.
If you’re in an extremely cold climate with persistent sub-zero temperatures you likely will need to add a heat source under the trailer if you don’t already have one. For trailers with ‘artic’ or ‘4 season’ packages you may need to add this even if it’s not below zero as added insulation in the floor prevents heat from dissipating through the floor (this is the principle a skirt works on).
Since you have the AirSkirts on it’s unlikely your freeze is under the trailer. Some rigs have plumbing in unheated compartments (under sinks, under wardrobes) so if this is the case venting heat into those areas is a good fix.
If you have heated tanks we recommend running these – the heat they normally waste will be retained by your AirSkirts and add additional protection from freezing.
